Alan S. Goldman, CPA
earned a Masters in Business Administration in Finance from Pepperdine University in 1983. He received a Bachelors degree in Economics from UCLA in 1981. Alan was a Senior Tax Accountant at Peat Marwick (now KPMG), and a partner at Nigro, Karlin & Segal, a local Business Management firm.
In 1992, Alan formed Alan S. Goldman & Company and in 1996 was a founding partner in Goldman & Knell. Alan represents numerous high profile individuals and companies engaged in a variety of businesses ranging from entertainment to technology. He has directly negotiated, or participated with other members of the client’s team in negotiating, contracts for services relating to acting, writing, directing, and producing together with marketing, copyright, licensing, construction, insurance, merchandising, publishing, research and development and book contracts, along with network licenses and commitments, recording agreements and a variety of other agreements.
His goal is to maximize his clients’ cash flow and overall earnings, and minimize their tax exposure. Alan is routinely retained as an expert witness and consultant by many of the top litigation firms and has been a guest lecturer at UCLA. Above all, it is the highly personal and professional service that Alan delivers to his clients which has made him a highly respected CPA and Business Manager.
Paul D. Knell, CPA
received his Bachelors degree in Business with a Major in Accounting and a minor in Finance from California State University Long Beach in 1981. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1984 and spent several years in the public accounting and real estate investment arenas before becoming a Business Manager. In 1985, Paul joined the Business Management firm of Jamner, Pariser & Meschures, and became a Partner in that firm in 1991.
Paul has substantial expertise and experience in dealing with the financial affairs of high income and high net worth personalities, and he has worked with many of the top actors, writers, producers, and directors in Hollywood. Paul has a strong understanding of domestic and international taxation issues, life insurance, contract negotiation, and estate planning. He also has experience in all areas of real estate, having overseen the management of apartment complexes, commercial buildings, office buildings, oil wells, public storage units, and even a bed and breakfast inn. Paul has been successful in guiding his clients’ investments in a multitude of profitable real estate investments throughout the country.
Lisa Robinson
is a principal with Goldman & Knell, CPA’s, LLP. She has been with the firm since its inception in 1992. Her career in business management, spanning over 20 years, has given her the opportunity to have hands on involvement in the financial management of a wide variety of entertainment industry clientele.
She is a key figure in all operations of the business management area of the firm, continually striving to keep Goldman & Knell CPA’s, LLP at the forefront in client services. Together with the rest of the business management team, she works to assure that the clients’ professional and personal financial lives run smoothly. She works diligently to accommodate each client as an individual and to tailor the many services the firm has to offer to their specific needs. She is instrumental in the implementation of new technologies and procedures which provide accurate, up to date information to clients.
